The Dashboard and Data Control Update

Kraken Teams 2.18.0 makes it easier to manage team members, locations, categories, and plugin settings from one place.

The release adds a dedicated Teams dashboard, activity tracking, safer data-removal controls, redesigned settings screens, and direct access to the Teams Help Centre.

What’s Inside

A New Teams Dashboard

The new Teams dashboard gives site administrators a clear view of their team directory.

See totals for active members, inactive members, locations, drafts, and categories. Filter members by status, choose how many records appear on each page, review member details, and open any profile for editing.

The dashboard also flags published team members that need attention, including profiles without a main image, category, biography, or active status. Setup and settings alerts are displayed in a separate dashboard panel.

Panels can be collapsed, expanded, or moved into a preferred order. Each administrator’s layout is saved to their WordPress profile.

Team Activity History

Kraken Teams now records when team members, locations, categories, and settings are added, updated, or deleted.

Recent activity tables show what changed, when it changed, and which user made the change. Records older than 60 days are removed automatically.

This gives administrators a useful record of recent work without requiring a separate activity plugin. Setting values are not stored in the activity history.

Data Removal Controls

Removing Kraken Teams no longer deletes team content or settings by default.

A new Data Removal setting lets administrators choose whether team members, locations, categories, settings, Customizer values, dashboard preferences, and activity records should be permanently deleted during uninstall.

Teams Help Centre

A new Help link appears as the final item in the Teams administration menu. A Help link has also been added to the Kraken Teams row on the WordPress Plugins screen.

Both links open the dedicated Kraken Teams Help Centre for setup and usage guidance.

Technical Notes

Version 2.18.0 fixes an early translation-loading issue that could trigger WordPress just-in-time translation notices. Menu configuration is now loaded after WordPress is ready to translate its labels.

The release also adds automated PHPUnit tests, PHP and JavaScript linting, ESLint, PHPCS auditing, smoke tests, release-readiness checks, and a WordPress-backed integration test script.
