2.20.0 Release Kraken Careers
The More Cowbell Update
Kraken Careers 2.20.0 brings a more consistent experience across the plugin, with coordinated admin animations, clearer loading states, unified confirmation dialogs, and cleaner controls.
The release also adds the Kraken Job Posts block, pagination for candidate activity, safer candidate imports, and better handling of large record sets.
What’s Inside
A More Consistent Admin Experience
Dashboards, reports, metaboxes, settings, and the setup wizard now share the same animation timing and interaction patterns.
Panels, accordions, modals, buttons, and loading states provide clearer visual feedback as content opens, closes, loads, or changes. These animations automatically respect the reduced-motion preference set on the user’s device.
There is no extra configuration required.
Kraken Job Posts Block
The new Kraken Job Posts block lets you add current job openings to any page through the WordPress block editor.
Choose one or more job categories, display between 1 and 100 jobs, and select a row or grid layout. Grid layouts support one, two, or three columns and adjust for smaller screens.
The block uses the existing Kraken Careers job design and displays a live preview inside the editor.
Easier Candidate Activity Review
Recent Activity on candidate records now includes pagination controls.
Choose to show between 10 and 100 activity records at a time, move between pages using the previous and next buttons, and see which records are currently displayed.
This makes longer candidate histories easier to review without reloading the page.
Clearer Delete Confirmations
Deleting a candidate communication or note now opens a confirmation dialog with separate Cancel and Delete buttons.
The dialog places keyboard focus on Cancel when it opens and returns focus to the original delete button when it closes. It can also be dismissed with the Escape key or by selecting the area outside the dialog.
This replaces the browser’s standard confirmation message with the same dialog design used throughout Kraken Careers.
Cleaner Quick Edit Controls
Quick Edit has been removed from Candidates and the Talent Pool because those records require the full candidate management screen.
Jobs keep Quick Edit, but the panel now focuses on the fields used for job administration. Job Status and Featured Job appear below the Slug field, while the WordPress date, password, private, and post status controls have been removed.
What This Means
Kraken Careers 2.20.0 adds more cowbell across the entire hiring experience.
The admin feels more consistent, job openings can be placed anywhere with the new block, and longer candidate histories are easier to review. Behind the scenes, stronger import checks and batched processing make the plugin safer as hiring data grows.
