2.17.0 Release Kraken Careers

Clearer Tracking, Better Job Management

Kraken Careers 2.17.0 is here, bringing more visibility into what is changing across your hiring workflow and a cleaner experience for both admins and applicants.

This release focuses on activity logs, job editing improvements, public job status clarity, and front-end polish.

What’s Inside

Activity Logs for Jobs, Applications, and Settings

The settings dashboard now includes recent activity for jobs, applications, and settings changes. Admins can quickly see what was updated, when it changed, and who made the change.

Activity records are stored with a 60-day rolling retention window, keeping recent history visible without letting the log grow forever.

Improved Job Editing

Job posting screens are easier to work through with collapsible metabox sections, field completion counters, and error counters. This makes it simpler to spot incomplete areas before publishing or updating a job.

You can also create related records directly while editing a job, including Locations, Company Profiles, and Benefits, without leaving the job posting workflow.

Fit Ranges

Score-Based Screening now supports configurable Fit Ranges for Application Questions. Admins can map applicant scores to labels like Strong Fit, Good Fit, Possible Fit, Needs Review, Low Fit, and Not a Fit.

Fit labels are saved with each application and shown across the applicant list, dashboard, and application details, making it easier for teams to quickly understand how closely an applicant matches the screening criteria.

Status Badges on Job Cards

Closed and Filled jobs now display clear status indicators on public job cards. This helps applicants understand availability while browsing listings and gives teams a cleaner way to keep non-open jobs visible when needed.

Updated Front-End Experience

The public-facing job experience has been refined with updated styles, cleaner job listing output, and better handling for closed, filled, and expired jobs.

Instead of showing status notices only near the top of a job posting, these messages now replace the application form when applications are no longer available. Job listing pages are also cleaner, with status and error notices removed from the top of the listings.

Customizer Updates

Customizer controls were also expanded for Header, Main, Application, and Company Profile backgrounds, giving site owners more control over how career pages fit their brand.

Additional Fixes and Polish

Version 2.17.0 also includes front-end CSS updates, improved back button behavior when visitors arrive from offsite, validation fixes for expired, archived, and draft jobs, and internal cleanup across admin and metabox code.
