Kraken Job Posts Block
Overview
The Kraken Job Posts block displays current Kraken Careers jobs on any WordPress page or post that uses the block editor.
Use it to create a job listing page, add jobs to a landing page, or show jobs in a section of your website.
Use the links below to jump to a section:
Add the Block
- Open the WordPress page or post where the jobs should appear.
- Select Add Block.
- Search for Kraken Job Posts.
- Select the block.
- Configure the block settings.
- Save or publish the page.
The block displays current public jobs. Jobs that are Draft, Scheduled, Paused, Closed, Filled, Expired, Archived, or otherwise unavailable are not shown as current listings.
Job Settings
The block’s Job Settings panel controls which jobs are displayed.
The panel contains:
- Categories
- Amount
The available category choices come from the Job Categories configured under Careers → Settings → Categories & Tags.
If no categories are available, create them in the Careers settings before configuring the block.
Categories
Use Categories to limit the block to jobs assigned to selected categories.
You can:
- Select one category.
- Select several categories.
- Leave every category unchecked to display jobs from all categories.
When several categories are selected, the block displays jobs assigned to any of those categories.
Categories must be assigned to the job in the job editor before the job can appear in a category-filtered block.
See Categories & Tags for managing categories.
Amount
Use Amount to choose how many jobs the block displays.
The available range is 1 to 100 jobs.
For example:
- Set Amount to 5 to show up to five jobs.
- Set Amount to 10 to show up to ten jobs.
- Set Amount to 100 to show up to one hundred jobs.
If fewer current jobs match the selected categories, the block displays only the available matching jobs.
Display Settings
The Display panel controls how the jobs are arranged.
Content Layout Style
Choose one of the following layouts:
- Row: Displays jobs in a vertical list.
- Grid: Displays jobs in columns.
Number of Columns
Number of Columns appears when Content Layout Style is set to Grid.
Choose:
- 1 column
- 2 columns
- 3 columns
The column setting does not affect the Row layout.
The final appearance can also be affected by the active WordPress theme and the width of the page or block.
Preview and Publish
After configuring the block:
- Check the preview in the editor.
- Confirm that the selected categories are correct.
- Check the number of jobs shown.
- Review the Row or Grid layout.
- Select Save Draft, Update, or Publish.
Open the public page after publishing and check the listing on desktop and mobile screen sizes.
Each job card uses the current public job information. Update the job itself when the title, location, wage, description, or status needs to change.
Empty Results
If no matching current jobs are available, the block displays:
No current jobs found.
Check the job statuses and category assignments when this message appears.
Troubleshooting
The Block Is Not Available
Confirm that the Kraken Careers plugin is active and that you are editing a page with the WordPress block editor.
Search for Kraken Job Posts under Add Block. If it is still unavailable, ask your WordPress administrator to check the plugin installation.
No Jobs Are Showing
Check that there are current public jobs available.
Draft, Scheduled, Paused, Closed, Filled, Expired, and Archived jobs are not shown as current listings.
Also check that the selected categories match the categories assigned to the jobs.
A Job Is Missing from a Category Filter
Open the job and check its Categories field.
Assign the correct category, save the job, and reload the page containing the block.
All Categories Are Missing from the Block Settings
Open Careers → Settings → Categories & Tags and check Job Categories.
Add at least one category, save the settings, and reopen the page editor.
The Block Shows Too Many or Too Few Jobs
Check the Amount setting.
The block displays up to the selected number of matching current jobs. It cannot display jobs that are unavailable or do not match the selected categories.
The Grid Is Not Using the Selected Columns
Confirm that Content Layout Style is set to Grid.
The Number of Columns setting does not affect the Row layout. Check the page width and active theme styles if the grid wraps differently on the public page.
The Block Looks Different on the Public Page
The theme controls the surrounding page width and some visual styling.
Check the public page after publishing and review the block at different screen sizes. Use the Careers Display settings when the public Careers layout needs broader width or filter changes.
Changes Are Not Visible
Select Update or Publish after changing the block.
Clear page and browser cache if the public page still shows the previous category, amount, or layout.
