Application Form

Kraken Careers provides flexible form settings that allow you to control what applicants see when submitting a job application. These settings let you choose a Thank You page and configure additional custom fields that appear across all job postings.

For the Application Form settings: go to CareersSettingsForm

Thank You Page

You must select a web page with a thank you / confirmation message for applicants to be taken to, after they successfully submit an application. If you don’t have a ‘Thank You’ page already, you will need to create one, using a standard WordPress page.

Extra Fields

You can add up to five additional fields to the application form. These fields will appear on every job listing, making them ideal for collecting information your organization requires for all roles (e.g., portfolio links, certifications, supplemental documents).

Important Information about Privacy Laws: Laws are in place to protect people’s privacy, personal and sensitive information, therefore, DO NOT ask any questions or request any information that may be private and/or sensitive (ie: Social Insurance numbers (SIN), bank account details, passport information, credit card numbers, health questions, etc.). Any questions or information you request using Kraken Careers is completely your responsibility, so we suggest you do your own research to determine if you are in violation of any Privacy Laws or legislation prior to requesting anything.

Field Options:

Enable Field: Turn this field on or off. When enabled, it will appear on every application form.

Field Label: The text label displayed to applicants above the field. Use clear and descriptive wording so applicants understand what information is needed.

Field Type: Choose the type of form input to display. Select the field type that best matches the information you want to collect. Available options include:

  • Text Field – For short written answers
  • Text Area – For longer responses (e.g., cover letter text, explanations)
  • Upload Field – Allows applicants to upload a file (PDF, DOCX).

Required: Specify whether applicants must fill out the field before submitting their application. Required fields must be completed to proceed, while optional fields allow applicants to skip them.

Blacklist

When an applicant is set to Blacklist, their email will display here. You also have the option to manually blacklist applicants by entering a comma-separated list of email addresses you want to block from submitting job applications. You can also add applicants to this list automatically by marking them as Blacklisted in the applications dashboard.

Applicants will not be notified that they are blacklisted, and their applications will not be saved or processed.
